In the first principle of the NeuronWorks Protocol, we explored the importance of maximizing distinctly human capabilities in the way we perceive the world. As artificial intelligence continues to automate analytical and computational tasks, activating uniquely human strengths becomes essential for creating value in the AI era.
However, viewing the world through a sensory or artistic lens alone is not enough to solve complex problems.
This is why the second step of the protocol is necessary.
While the NeuronWorks™ Protocol is designed to cultivate a mindset and cognitive framework that leverage the strengths of human thinking, its second step is highly practical. It provides a concrete method for generating, organizing, and developing ideas.
This method is called NeuronWorks®.
The name originates from its resemblance to the mechanisms of neurons—the fundamental structures that generate human thought. The methodology shares many characteristics with the way neural networks form and expand connections within the human brain.
To understand this process, we must first examine the nature of thought itself.
Thought emerges through connections between pieces of information. In the brain, these connections are formed through synapses linking neurons together. Neurons extend branches in multiple directions, and the greater the number of branches, the greater the number of potential connections.
The same principle applies to thinking.
To generate ideas beyond conventional boundaries, we must increase the conceptual surface area available for new connections. This requires deliberately expanding related ideas, perspectives, and associations until we move beyond familiar patterns and reach previously unexplored territory.
Equally important is understanding how ideas are related to one another.
For this reason, the NeuronWorks methodology utilizes seven visually distinct connection types, allowing different forms of relationships to be identified, mapped, and developed simultaneously.
At the core of the methodology are five principles collectively known as LIFEI.
By continuously developing ideas that satisfy the LIFEI framework, individuals create the conditions for both rational expansion and creative synthesis. Over time, this process builds robust conceptual structures capable of producing innovative yet practical solutions.
As practitioners continue training with the NeuronWorks methodology through Wetware Consulting, they gradually develop the ability to generate complex, rational, and creative thought patterns internally—without relying on large external concept maps.
This is the underlying mechanism behind effective problem-solving and transformative thinking.
This is the secret of solving real-world challenges by leveraging the unique strengths of human cognition.
